Duel of the Elders on Mount Everest!

In the next couple of days  a competition is brewing of who will be the oldest person to hike Everest and summit the Mount.  Min Bahadur Sherchan, who is 81 of Nepal and his 80 year old rival Yuichiro Mirura of Japan are currently at Everest Base Camp on the South Side of the mountain. They will both set out for the 29,029-foot summit soon.  A dream for both of them would be to summit in their 80th year and topping that would to be to be the oldest person to do that!

Day 9  Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes

Unfortunately there is no mobile signal around Gokyo Lakes (below) so we have not had an update from Pimba. We know that Jameson, Kevin and Brian should have ascended Gokyo Ri (5483m) this morning before making there way over the Ngozumpa Glacier to Tragnag (4690m).Hopefully the weather was clear and they would have had their first view of Mount Everest and Pumori.
