Wickham Bishops: 59-year-old financial advisor climbs Everest

A 59-year-old financial advisor from Wickham Bishops has successfully climbed Mount Everest, raising over £12,000 for the St James’s Foundation charity.

Keith Kemp, from Kelvedon Road, trekked over 120 miles of gruelling terrain to Everest base camp at a height of 17,500 feet from Kathmandu with 25 others.

The dad-of-two, who runs Essex Financial Solutions under the St James’s Place wealth management company, took three weeks to complete the challenge.

Journalist treks to Everest base camp for charity

Anja Swan, a journalism undergraduate at Leeds Metropolitan University, was today(June19) leaving the UK for an adventure which will see her climb to the base camp of Mount Everest.The 21-year-old is taking on the world’s highest mountain to raise money for Childreach International, a charity helping children in the developing countries. The Seascale student will be visiting a village and school in Nepal before her trek starts.
