Day 9  Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes

Unfortunately there is no mobile signal around Gokyo Lakes (below) so we have not had an update from Pimba. We know that Jameson, Kevin and Brian should have ascended Gokyo Ri (5483m) this morning before making there way over the Ngozumpa Glacier to Tragnag (4690m).Hopefully the weather was clear and they would have had their first view of Mount Everest and Pumori.

Our American-Nepali bachelor team (aka Jameson, Kevin, Brian and Pimba) are going strong. They have continued trekking up the valley from Dole the yersa (yak summer pastures) and have now arrived in Machermo (4410m) today. The guys wi

Jameson, Kevin and Brian trek to Namche Bazaar

Jameson, Kevin and Brian had an awesome flight to Lukla, and trekked via Phakding to Namche Bazaar at 3450m, arriving there yesterday afternoon. The weather is a little cloudy but here are the guys by one of the many suspension bridges they have been crossing over the Dudh Kosi river. Today, Pimba will be leading them on an acclimatisation trek to get their first views of Mount Everest. Stay strong guys..

Namrung, Manaslu Circuit

Day 8: arrived in Namrung (2560m)

Jon is feeling great and really enjoying the local nepali food – (bhat, dal, tarkari).   The weather is being very kind to them and staying clear and bright as they left Dent’s steep-sided valley this morning.  Today they have trekked through the village of Lama where there are many Mani stones and visited the Tibetan village of Ghap before reaching Namrung in the Manaslu basin, where they will stay overnight.

 

Trekker update for Jon Johnson’s Manaslu Circuit trek

Jon arrived safely last night and settled into Hotel Manang for the night after his trek briefing by Pimba. Tomorrow he has an early start to trek to Manaslu for his 14 day trek covering the whole of the Manaslu Circuit.

Claire and Daniel reach the summit of Kala Pattar 5554m today.

Day 9 of the 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp for Claire and Daniel. Unfortunately there was no signal yesterday so we were unable to get an update. On 26th, Claire and Daniel trekked to Gorak Shep, both well acclimatised so this morning they summited Kala Pattar at 5554m and then carried on down to see Everest Base Camp, despite gusting winds weather.  Congratulations to you both and well done. Claire and Daniel trek to Lobuche at 4930m.

Day 7 of the 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp for Claire and Daniel. Today the team will continue up the valley beneath the impressive peaks of Cholatse and Tawache on the left. Rest and acclimatisation at Pheriche

Day 6 of the 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp for Claire and Daniel. Today the team will be spending the day at Pheriche for rest and acclimatization. They will wander up the valley to look at the lake, the Tshola Tsho and the perpendicular walls of Cholatse and Tawache. After a good nights rest at the tea-house in Tangboche and a tummy full of high energy food, this morning the team descended downhill through a forest and across the Imja Khola which is a tributary of the Dudh Kosi and drains the slopes of Mount Everest.
