Routes
Pioneers Trail to Everest Base Camp - 29 days
This is the original Everest Base Camp route trekking in from Jiri instead of catching a plane to Lukla. You will experience this challenging trek through the eyes of the first pioneer Mount Everest expeditions who used this route back in 1953.You will also have the opportunity to ascend Kala Pattar (5545m) with its spectacular views across the South Col and the summit of Mt Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8501m), Nuptse (7879m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6608m) and Kantega (6685m). You will continue your Himalayan journey to eventually reach Everest Base Camp, the starting point for summit attempts.
The region is rich in culture taking you through traditional Sherpa villages and onto the ancient and unspoilt Thyangboche and Pangboche monasteries which nestle high up in the mountains.
You will sleep in teahouses along the way, where you will also eat your meals.
This is a much longer and fuller Everest trekking holiday experience that lasts nearly a month with twenty three days on the Everest Base Camp Trek.
This trek runs during March to May and September to December.
